Connecting rods are among the most critical and highly-stressed parts in an engine. Any marking on the rods must not alter the mechanical integrity in any way. With powder forging and end cap cracking, mating the connecting rod to the corresponding cap end becomes critical. Laser marking the rod and rod cap with visual serial numbers, bar codes, or 2D codes can ensure the 1:1 relationship between rod and cap end.  

Marking parts with computer-controlled lasers uses no inks and is minimally disruptive to the surface of the part. And laser marking can also produce graphics and logos. You can brand parts with your customers' logos. They'll love it!
